What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the implementation of the EPWP NYS and CDI initiatives.
  • Develop strategies for efficient project execution within the public works sector.
  • Identify and promote projects that enhance job creation and labour-intensity.
  • Support planning and design processes to align with EPWP and NYS objectives.
  • Advise provincial public works departments and municipalities on establishing EPWP NYS programmes.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders and compile progress reports on projects.
  • Oversee participant recruitment, training processes, and formal training sessions.
  • Monitor and evaluate programme participants for database inclusion.
  • Facilitate the registration and support of suitable programme participants.
  • Conduct site visits and meetings to monitor the implementation of programmes.
  • Manage the Sub-Directorate, ensuring performance expectations are met.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) in Social Sciences, Built Environment, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience at a Junior Management or Assistant Director level.
  • Knowledge of the Expanded Public Works Programme and National Youth Service initiatives.
  • Skills in programme and project management, along with a good understanding of the Public Finance Management Act.
  • Strong analytical thinking and effective communication abilities.
  • Personal attributes: innovative, trustworthy, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
