About the Role
The Department of Information and Communication Technology is seeking a dedicated Data Technologist for ICT Support based in Kwa-Mhlanga, within the Nkangala Region. What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive end-user support for online services, PC hardware, and software, including diagnostics and repairs.
- Log and respond promptly to support calls, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Participate in system development and modernization processes, contributing to the evolution of IT services.
- Help implement IT-related projects and provide ongoing reports on progress and outcomes.
- Offer dedicated IT support across online, desktop, mobile, and virtual platforms.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with service level agreements and memorandums of understanding related to IT service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of three years’ experience with a National Diploma NQF Level 06 in Information Technology.
- At least two years of hands-on experience in an information technology environment, focusing on end-user support.
- A valid driver’s license is essential.
- Additional certifications such as A+ and N+ are advantageous; familiarity with ITIL V3/V4 Foundation is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on customer relations.
- Proficient system development skills, time management abilities, and analytical thinking.
- In-depth knowledge of IT support services, desktop/hardware platforms, Windows OS, M365, Microsoft Office 365, and Apple iOS.
- Understanding of the functions and operations of a service/helpdesk environment.
