What You’ll Do
- Liaise with community members to understand their needs and challenges
- Coordinate with government structures to address community needs
- Assist communities in accessing government services
- Maintain records of services rendered and processes for accessing those services
- Promote and enhance existing local governance structures and networks
What You’ll Need
- A Senior Certificate/Grade 12 is required
- A qualification in Community Development Work is advantageous
- Experience in Community Development Work, including volunteering, is a plus
- Strong knowledge of community development principles
- Understanding of municipal structures and government services
- Excellent report writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Computer literacy is essential

Requirements
The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Senior Certificate/Grade 12 with no relevant experience.
A qualification in Community Development Work will be an added advantage; experience in Community Development Work including but not limited to volunteering in Community Development projects and practices will be an added advantage.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required: The successful candidate must have:- Sound knowledge of Community Development; Municipal structures; Government services; Report writing; Interpersonal skills; Communication skills and Computer literacy.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be required to liaise, co-ordinate, mobilize, inform and assist communities with access to services provided by government and to assist communities to identify and communicate their needs to Government at National, Provincial and Local Government level to bring government closer to the people with the following responsibilities:- determine the needs of communities and coordinate these needs to the relevant government structures; Co-ordinate the collation of information; Keep records of all services rendered by government and the processes and mechanisms to access those services; Promote networks and enhance the activities of existing local governance structures and other stakeholders (CBW, NGO’s etc) aimed at improved service delivery; Inform and assist communities with access to the services provided by government structures.
Salary
R280 278.per annum (Level 06)
