About the Role
The Department of Social Development is seeking passionate individuals for the role of Community Development Practitioner Grade 1. What You’ll Do
- Facilitate awareness campaigns to promote community development programmes.
- Mobilise local communities into integrated development structures.
- Organise community development initiatives within each local municipality.
- Develop community profiles using participatory development methodologies.
- Align and utilise resources from various departments to implement integrated development plans.
- Assess funding applications from community organisations.
- Monitor, evaluate, and support funded programmes and projects.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate plus a B Degree or National Diploma in Social Sciences, Developmental Economics, Development Studies, or Community Development.
- A valid South African driver’s license.
- Computer literacy is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in community development will be considered.
- Strong understanding of community development issues and a facilitative approach to engage communities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organising, and planning skills.
