What You’ll Do
- Facilitate awareness campaigns to promote community development programmes.
- Mobilise local communities to form integrated development structures.
- Implement community development initiatives tailored to each municipality’s unique context.
- Create and maintain community profiles using participatory development methodologies.
- Collaborate with various departments to align resources for the execution of Integrated Development Plans.
- Assess applications for departmental funding from community organisations.
- Monitor and evaluate funded programmes/projects, providing necessary support services.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Social Sciences, Developmental Economics, Development Studies, or Community Development.
- A driver’s licence is required within six months of starting if not already held.
- Computer literacy is an advantage.
- Experience related to community development will be considered beneficial.
- Strong understanding and practical exposure to community development issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with planning and organisational abilities.
- Capacity to document and report on programmes and projects effectively.

Requirements
National Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma in Social Sciences, Developmental Economics, Development Studies or Community Development.Successful candidates who are not in possession of a driver’s licence will be required to submit proof within six (6) months from the date of assumption of duty.
Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
Appropriate/recognizable experience after complying with the required educational qualification will be considered for appointment.
Competencies: Theoretical understanding and practical experience/exposure to community development issues.
Ability to use a facilitative approach to motivate constructive participation in programme development and implementation.
Ability to document and report on programmes and projects in the required format.
