What You’ll Do

  • Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients.
  • Deliver individual, group, and family psychotherapy based on evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinical activities, including ward rounds and case discussions.
  • Maintain clinical governance standards with accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Contribute to the training and supervision of intern psychologists and students.
  • Engage in teaching, research, and professional development activities.
  • Represent psychology on relevant hospital committees and contribute to service strategy.
  • Offer outreach and support services to district hospitals and community facilities.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Relevant experience:
  • Grade 1: No experience required post-registration for RSA qualified candidates or 1 year for foreign qualified candidates.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 8 years relevant experience post-registration for RSA qualified, or 9 years for foreign qualified.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 16 years relevant experience post-registration for RSA qualified, or 17 years for foreign qualified.
  • A valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical psychology practices and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
