What You’ll Do

• Implement and oversee the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the COID Act.
• Conduct workplace hazard identification and risk assessments in collaboration with management.
• Develop and facilitate training programs for all personnel on safety protocols and procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to occupational health and safety.
• Participate in institutional and provincial committees to enhance service quality.
• Assist in the management of waste and injury on duty (IOD) cases.
• Work closely with infection prevention and control (IPC) and employee assistance program (EAP) coordinators.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
• A R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with SANC as a professional nurse.
• Current registration with SANC.
• A minimum of 7 years of recognisable nursing experience, with at least 3 years in an Occupational Health and Safety environment.
• A post-basic nursing qualification in Occupational Health and Safety accredited by SANC.
• Basic computer literacy and a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, COID Act, and related legal frameworks.
• Strong communication, organizational, and report writing skills.
