What You’ll Do

  • Lead the strategic planning and operational management of clinical and administrative services at the hospital.
  • Represent the hospital at provincial and public forums, advocating for community health needs.
  • Develop financial management policies to ensure budget compliance and maximize revenue collection.
  • Oversee the implementation of risk management strategies and asset management practices.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to drive service delivery innovation and improve patient care outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate hospital performance to ensure adherence to national healthcare mandates.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Senior Certificate and an NQF Level 7 qualification in a clinical field recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role within the healthcare sector.
  • Registration with the relevant Professional Council.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Health Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and other relevant legislation.
  • Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-Entry Programme endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG).
  • Strong competencies in strategic capability, financial management, people management, and change management.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Requirements

National Senior Certificate, an appropriate NQF Level 7 qualification as recognized by SAQA in the clinical field coupled with five (5) years’ experience in middle/senior managerial level.

Registration with the relevant Professional Council.

Knowledge of relevant legislation such as National Health Act, Mental Health Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Public Service Act and related regulations and policies.

Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-Entry Programme endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG) is a pre-requisite for appointment.

Competencies: Strategic Capability and Leadership, Programme and Project Management, Financial Management, Change Management, People Management and Empowerment, Service Delivery Innovation and Customer Focus.

A valid driver’s licence.

Job Duties

To plan, direct coordinate and manage the efficient and effective delivery of clinical and administration support services through working the key executive management team at the hospital within the legal regulatory framework.

To present the Hospital Authoritatively at provincial and public forums.

To provide Strategic leadership to improve operational effectively within the health establishment to improve health outcomes.

Strategic Planning: Prepare a strategic Plan for the Hospital to ensure it is in Line with the 10-point plan, national, provincial, regional and district plan.

Finance Management: Maximize revenue through Collection of all income due to the hospital, ensure that Hospital is managed within the budget in line with the PFMA and Relevant guidelines.

Ensure that adequate policies, systems and Procedures are in place to enable prudent management of financial resources.

Planning of financial resources mobilization.

Monitoring and evaluation and Asset and Risk management.

Finance management: Maximize revenue through Collection of all income due to the hospital, ensure that Hospital is managed within the budget in line with the PFMA and Relevant guidelines.

Ensure that adequate policies, systems and Procedures are in place to enable prudent management of financial resources.

Planning of financial resources mobilization.

Monitoring and evaluation, and Asset and Risk Management.

Salary

R1 317 384 – R1 551 807 per annum (Level 13), (all-inclusive remuneration package). The package includes a basic salary (70% of package), and a 103 flexible portion that may be structured in accordance with the rules for Senior Management Services
