About the Role
The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform is seeking a dedicated Chief Director: NARYSEC and Rural Skills Development to join its team in Pretoria, Gauteng. What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee training and skills development initiatives for rural communities.
- Identify training opportunities that align with socio-economic needs.
- Develop and implement effective skills development strategies and programmes.
- Ensure quality assurance of skills development programmes.
- Monitor and evaluate training initiatives to assess impact and effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to mobilize resources and support.
- Oversee the delivery of skills development institutions and national exit opportunities.
- Provide project management services and report on programme progress regularly.
- Facilitate youth development programmes in alignment with priority areas.
- Manage policies, financial services, and operational practices for NARYSEC.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Education, Skills Development, or related fields (NQF Level 7).
- A Nyukela certificate (Pre-entry Certificate to the SMS) must be submitted before appointment.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior managerial role within education and training.
- Strong knowledge of integrated rural development and project management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Proven abilities in financial management, report writing, and strategic planning.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
