What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement revenue enhancement programs for municipalities.
  • Oversee the management of the Local Government Equitable Share (LGES).
  • Guide municipalities on tariff levies and the cost of supply for essential services.
  • Direct and monitor property rating aspects in line with the Municipal Property Rates Act.
  • Advise municipalities on property valuations and legislative compliance.
  • Support the administration of the Municipal Systems Improvement Programme (MSIP).

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification in Public Administration, Management, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field (NQF 7 as recognized by SAQA).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role within a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Completion of the Nyukela Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme before appointment.
  • Knowledge of local government legislation, finance, and policy development is highly advantageous.
