What You’ll Do
- Manage the Department’s contributions towards local economic growth initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate regulatory burdens that hinder business development.
- Oversee strategic projects and service delivery agreements with key stakeholders.
- Facilitate the empowerment of enterprises within designated groups to address economic disparities.
- Implement broad economic strategies aimed at transforming the provincial economy.
- Conduct financial management and market assessments to guide project support decisions.
- Enhance coordination and partnerships for funding support to SMMEs and cooperatives.
- Align procurement policies to boost the capacity of cooperatives and SMMEs.
- Ensure the effective implementation of incubation and skills development programs.
- Manage departmental risk policies and collaborate with municipalities on enterprise development programs.
- Optimize the use of financial, human, and physical resources in line with legislation.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders through various formats.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent recognized by SAQA.
- A higher qualification in Economics, Economic Development, or related fields is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior management level or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Strong competencies in financial management, strategic leadership, program management, and communication.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
