What You’ll Do

• Oversee the management and provision of management accounting services.
• Ensure the preparation and monitoring of the department’s budget, including MTEF budget and adjustment estimates.
• Compile and support the internal stakeholders during the final draft budget preparation process.
• Manage monthly forecasts and ensure timely submission of financial performance reports.
• Develop and implement financial administration and accounting policies, systems, and processes.
• Supervise expenditure control systems to prevent unauthorized and irregular expenditure.
• Oversee revenue management frameworks to ensure effective billing and collection of revenue.
• Manage asset liability and debt management services to maintain financial integrity.
• Ensure compliance with audit recommendations and promote good corporate governance.
• Facilitate intergovernmental relations and integrated governance across the department.

What You’ll Need

• National Senior Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree in B.Com, Management Accounting, or Financial Management (NQF L7).
• A postgraduate qualification in Finance and articles will be advantageous.
• At least five years of experience at a Senior Managerial level in financial management.
• Pre-entry SMS or Nyukela Certificate is compulsory prior to appointment.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Strong knowledge of public finance management legislation and best practices.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, risk management, and internal controls.
• Excellent communication, analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
