What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the creation and enforcement of internet governance policies.
  • Develop and implement a national cybersecurity strategy addressing emerging threats.
  • Ensure the protection of national network infrastructures and critical information systems.
  • Establish and manage the national incident response framework for cyber threats.
  • Foster relationships with public and private partners to enhance cybersecurity collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to improve cybersecurity skills and awareness across government and the public.
  • Regularly assess and refine cybersecurity strategies and incident response plans.
  • Oversee performance and compliance of state-owned entities.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 7 qualification in Information Security, Computer Science, Telecommunication, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Cybersecurity Frameworks, ICT Risk Management, or Regulatory Compliance at a senior managerial level.
  • Advanced skills in strategic capability and leadership, government administrative processes, and people management.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity strategy, ICT policy development, and incident response management.
  • Strong problem-solving, customer focus, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
