What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate the provision of nursing care to ensure effective patient management.
- Oversee the implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans.
- Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in formulating and implementing nursing guidelines, practices, and standards.
- Manage the utilization of human, financial, and physical resources within the nursing department.
- Initiate and support health promotion activities to ensure comprehensive communication on healthcare issues.
What You’ll Need
- Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent).
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience after registration, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant legal frameworks and health policies, including the PFMA and Batho Pele Principles.
- Excellent managerial, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and a valid driver’s license.

Requirements
Basic R425 qualification i.e.
Diploma / Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
A minimum of 8 years’ appropriate experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC of which at least 3 years should be at a managerial level.
Ability to work in a multi- disciplinary team.
Knowledge of PFMA, Batho Pele Principles, Patient Rights Charter and other relevant legal frameworks, Labour Relations and Public Service Acts.
Managerial and communication (both written and verbal), report writing and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of six key priority areas, ability to work under pressure.
A valid driver’s licence.
Computer literacy.
Job Duties
Delegate, supervise and coordinate the provision of effective and effective patient care through adequate nursing care.Coordinate and monitor the implementation of nursing care plan and evaluation thereof.
Develop, establish and maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders (interprofessional, intersectoral and multi-disciplinary teamwork).
Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures.
Manage and monitor proper utilisation of human, financial and physical resources.
Initiate and participate in 116 health promotion to ensure consistent communication of relevant, accurate and comprehensive information on health care.
