What You’ll Do

  • Translate official documents from English to the relevant official language and vice versa.
  • Review and assess official documents for translation requirements.
  • Edit and proofread documents to ensure accuracy and quality in the relevant official language.
  • Conduct research to develop and standardize terminology for translations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts to clarify translation needs.
  • Supervise the translation activities of subordinates, providing guidance and support.
  • Archive all translated and edited documents electronically for future reference.
  • Report on progress and assist clients with language-related queries.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate/Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of a three-year National Diploma or Degree in Language Studies, Linguistics, or a related field, recognized by SAQA.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience, particularly as a Language Practitioner in a translation environment.
  • Proficiency in at least two official languages, including English.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and writing skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, alongside planning and organizing capabilities.
  • Computer literacy and research skills are essential.
