What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate reports on non-compliance with financial legislation and regulations for designated municipalities.
  • Assist in monitoring grant spending and submit detailed reports to relevant supervisors.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations on budget performance in prescribed formats.
  • Evaluate budgets and supporting documents, providing written comments and advice to municipalities.
  • Monitor budget preparation for compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and related regulations.
  • Analyze quarterly outcomes of municipalities’ budgets and financial performance, contributing to the Municipal Finance Quarterly Review.

What You’ll Need

  • A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 7) in Financial Management, Financial Accounting, or Management Accounting recognized by SAQA.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a local government environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and numeracy skills.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel, with excellent presentation and report writing abilities.
