What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement disease and chronic illness management programs.
  • Manage mental health initiatives and psychosomatic illness support.
  • Oversee injury on duty and incapacity cases due to ill health.
  • Create policies and guidelines to promote occupational health education.
  • Conduct awareness programs about health surveillance laws and regulations.
  • Develop toolkits for mental health promotion in workplaces.
  • Measure the impact of wellness programs on workplace stress levels.
  • Reduce stigma around mental health through community outreach.
  • Promote counseling and support services for employees.
  • Coordinate wellness programs, projects, and interventions.
  • Provide technical advice to management on health-related issues.
  • Evaluate employee performance to ensure strategic goals are met.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or a Degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Science, Social Science, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa or the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an Employee Health and Wellness environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and business performance management.
  • Strong community relations and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking, research, and policy formulation.
  • Understanding of GPG and DPSA policies, relevant legislation, and Public Service Regulations.
