What You’ll Do
- Initiate the annual budget compilation process and develop inputs for budget frameworks.
- Manage branch budget processes in accordance with established action plans.
- Attend information sessions to support budget program managers.
- Consolidate budget input from the branch and monitor budget adherence.
- Oversee the implementation of budget adjustments and ensure accurate capturing within the Basic Accounting System (BAS).
- Advise responsibility managers on budget reallocations and prepare realignment documents quarterly.
- Maintain budget structures and monitor monthly balancing reports.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Financial Management, Cost and Management Accounting, or equivalent qualifications (NQF Level 6).
- At least 3 years of experience at a supervisory level in a budget planning environment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of budget systems, financial accounting principles, and generally accepted accounting practices.
- Strong skills in project management, team management, and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Advanced computer literacy, especially in Excel and other accounting software.

Job Duties
Initiate budget compilation process annually.Develop, implement and evaluate budget inputs for budget framework processes, Adjusted Estimates of National Expenditure (AENE), Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), Estimates of National Expenditure (ENE) and Roll-overs.
Manage Branch budget processes as per the action plan.
Attend information sessions for budget programmes managers.
Consolidate budget input from the Branch.
Monitor budget in accordance with the vote.
Monitor budget implementation for programmes in accordance with the appropriation bill.
Monitor the implementation for capturing the original budget (ENE) and adjust budget (AENE) on Basic Accounting System (BAS) annually.
Manage Standard Charts of Accounts (SCOA) segment aligned to vote.
Monitor and advice responsibility managers to relocate budget to items with negative balance.
Monitor balancing report at the end of the month.
Monitor and advise with the preparation of realignment documents quarterly.
Manage the budget maintenance.
Monitor the implementation of BAS budget structures.
Monitor economic reporting format allocation combinations.
