The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Director: Demarcation and Structures to join their team in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and monitor the functionality of Municipal Public Accounts Committees (MPACs) to ensure effective oversight.
- Develop and implement a municipal governance assessment tool for evaluating governance processes.
- Facilitate training and workshops for municipal councils on their oversight roles and responsibilities.
- Assist municipalities in drafting Municipal By-Laws, Council Standing Rules and Orders.
- Prepare memorandums and responses to inquiries related to the Local Government Municipal Structures Act.
What You’ll Need
- A 3-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, or an equivalent qualification (NQF level 6/7).
- 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong planning, coordination, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and team leadership abilities.
