What You’ll Do
- Capture, reconcile, and ensure timely payments within a 30-day period.
- Address and resolve queries related to BAS and PERSAL payments.
- Reconcile monthly IRP5 and ensure timely payments to the South African Revenue Services and other third parties for statutory deductions.
- Liaise with clients to resolve payment-related queries.
- Maintain and clear the salary suspense account.
- Handle accounts receivable, journalise transactions, and prepare payments.
- Assist with month-end closure processes and provide source documents/payment batches to the Auditor-General and Internal Audit.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate with Accounting or Mathematics as a passed subject.
- A Degree or National Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration is advantageous.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Strong competencies in finance, problem-solving, and client orientation.
- Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
- Familiarity with general ledger reconciliation and analysis, as well as accounting systems like BAS and PERSAL.
