What You’ll Do

  • Assist the principal in developing and implementing the college curriculum and academic operations
  • Lead and manage academic staff to ensure effective teaching and learning
  • Oversee the assessment processes and ensure the college meets academic performance standards
  • Attend governance meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in teaching methodologies
  • Implement strategies for student retention and achievement
  • Ensure compliance with policies set by SANC, CHE, and SAQA
  • Facilitate staff development initiatives to promote academic excellence
  • Manage student academic matters, including recruitment and registration processes
  • Promote a research culture among staff and students to enhance evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with other academic institutions to improve operational effectiveness
  • Monitor and evaluate academic programs for quality assurance

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate
  • NQF Level 7 in Nursing, NQF Level 8 in Education and Management, and NQF Level 9 in Health Sciences, as recognized by SAQA
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Middle Management
  • At least 11 years of recognized nursing experience after registration as a professional nurse with SANC
  • 7 years of experience in Nursing Education after obtaining the Post Basic Qualification
  • Strong understanding of classroom and clinical teaching, including current National Health priorities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • A valid driver’s license
