What You’ll Do
- Study case dockets and make informed assessments for prosecution decisions.
- Guide investigations in complex tax and commercial matters.
- Prepare cases for court, including drafting charge sheets and necessary documents.
- Present the State’s case in court, leading and cross-examining witnesses.
- Manage court and case flow independently and efficiently.
- Handle appeals and reviews, providing legal opinions and arguments.
- Appear in court for motion applications related to criminal matters.
- Collaborate with partners within the criminal justice system to promote community involvement and satisfaction.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors.
- At least five years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Right of appearance as per section 25(2) of the NPA Act, 32 of 1998.
- Proven competency in independent and professional legal practice.
- Strong skills in legal research, drafting, and communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and a valid driver’s licence.
