About the Role
The Department of Finance is seeking a dedicated State Accountant in Vryheid to play a vital role in the financial management of public services. What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive salary administration services.
- Manage expenditure and general payments effectively.
- Oversee cash and revenue management processes.
- Ensure asset liability and debt management are conducted accurately.
- Provide bookkeeping and financial accounting services.
- Supervise and guide staff within the financial management team.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Internal Auditing, or Cost and Management Accounting (NQF Level 6).
- A minimum of two to three years of experience in a financial management environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial functions, practices, and the ability to capture data and operate computer systems.
- Familiarity with financial accounting procedures, methods, and principles.
- Understanding of Public Service financial legislation and Treasury Regulations, including PFMA, DORA, PSA, PSR, and PPPFA.
- Proficiency in financial operating systems such as PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS, COLTECH, and VIP.
- Essential skills in computer usage, planning, organizing, and effective communication.
