What You’ll Do
- Render financial accounting services related to debtors, creditors, revenue, and expenditure.
- Capture and manage revenue accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with the timely closure of month-end and year-end BAS processes.
- Prepare monthly accounting reconciliations, checks, and balances.
- Authorize and perform daily financial accounting system operations.
- Monitor the validity and accuracy of S&T claims.
- Review daily bank statements for compliance and accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to the Public Sector reporting framework, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and assess the performance of subordinates.
- Contribute to the compilation of sections in the Interim and Annual Financial Statements.
What You’ll Need
- A National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Finance/Accounting (NQF 6); NQF 7 is an added advantage.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in Accounting/Finance.
- Knowledge of Public Sector Reporting Framework and financial controls.
- Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of government systems such as BAS, Walker, and PERSAL is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong report writing skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
