The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a dedicated State Accountant: Accounts Payable to join its Head Office Regional Office located in Pretoria. What You’ll Do

• Verify and process LOGIS payments and sundry payments on the BAS System.
• Ensure the safekeeping of payment vouchers and manage the tracking of invoices on the Reapatala invoice tracking system.
• Maintain compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and General Accounting Practices.
• Foster strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide support in ensuring that financial procedures and standards are adhered to throughout the department.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) in Financial Management or Cost and Management Accounting.
• Appropriate experience in financial accounting, preferably within a government context.
• Knowledge of Financial Systems, GAAP, GRAP standards, and international financial standards.
• Familiarity with government financial systems such as BAS, PERSAL, and LOGIS.
• Understanding of the PFMA and Treasury Regulations, along with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
