SOUS CHEF WANTED – GOURMET CATERING COMPANY
Location: Brackenfell, Cape Town
Position: Sous Chef
Employment: Full-time
We are looking for a passionate, experienced and reliable Sous Chef to join our team at a well-established Gourmet Catering Company based in Brackenfell.

Key Responsibilities
• Planning, preparation and execution of menus and events.
• Prepare and present high-quality gourmet dishes to the required standards.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during food preparation and events.
• Ensure food quality, consistency, presentation and portion control are maintained.
• Menu development.
• Ensure all food preparation complies with hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Manage stock, minimise wastage and assist with stock control and ordering.
• Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean, organised and in excellent working condition.
• Ensure smooth running of off-site catering events.
• Must ensure operational requirements are met
• Work efficiently under pressure and meet strict catering deadlines.
• Lead by example and maintain a professional, positive and team-oriented working environment.
Requirements
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Previous experience as a Catering Sous Chef or in a senior chef/kitchen position.
• Relevant culinary qualification will be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on catering events.
• Valid Driver’s Licence – essential.
• Own reliable transport – essential.
• A professional attitude with a passion for food and attention to detail.
• Must be willing to travel to catering venues when required.
