What You’ll Do

• Provide comprehensive clinical social work services to clients in a hospital setting.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify relevant needs and conditions.
• Develop and implement safe discharge plans for patients.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Support and mentor social workers, volunteers, and students in their professional development.
• Stay updated with developments in the field of social work and apply new knowledge.
• Perform administrative functions related to social work processes.
• Ensure the delivery of accountable social work services that meet departmental goals.

What You’ll Need

• A relevant qualification as a Social Worker, registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
• Registration with the SACSSP as a Social Worker.
• Experience requirements vary by grade:
• Grade 1: None after registration.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years experience.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years experience.
• Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years experience.
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence.
• Strong analytical, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies in the public sector related to social work.
• Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
