What You’ll Do

  • Manage the addition of new assets, ensuring they are accurately captured and documented.
  • Oversee the asset disposal process, identifying redundant or damaged assets and facilitating their disposal in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain an updated asset register and ensure reconciliation between the asset register and financial systems.
  • Develop and execute asset verification plans to ensure physical counts align with documentation.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on asset management activities, including closeout reports for disposals.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective asset management practices are followed.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Financial Accounting, Commerce, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in asset management.
  • Strong understanding of the Public Finance Management Act and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and effective communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to manage conflicts, and a valid driver’s license.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on general administration and supervisory responsibilities.
