What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate the implementation of financial systems and processes to ensure data integrity
  • Assess and report on compliance with accounting-related legislative requirements
  • Provide comprehensive financial information to support the operations of Traditional Councils
  • Perform reconciliations between cash books and bank statements
  • Clear unreconciling items and maintain suspense accounts
  • Prepare relevant journals and manual reconciliations of investments
  • Maintain document control over bank reconciliations and supporting documentation
  • Review statements of receipts and payments from Traditional Authorities against the Walker system

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Finance/Accounting, or an equivalent NQF level 6 qualification
  • A Degree Qualification or NQF level 7 will be an added advantage
  • At least two years of relevant experience in Public Finance
  • Sound knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations
  • Familiarity with the Walker Financial Management System and Public Service Regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Computer literacy and the ability to facilitate workshops/training
