What You’ll Do
- Supervise security officers and service providers to ensure adherence to departmental security policies
- Allocate duties and monitor outcomes, implementing corrective measures as needed
- Monitor access control to prevent unauthorized entry into buildings and premises
- Authorize the movement of equipment and documents within and out of facilities
- Inspect and report any malfunctioning security measures, such as alarm systems and access controls
- Provide support during emergencies and respond to alarm systems promptly
- Administer control room operations and manage key control systems
- Identify potential risks and threats to security and report incidents to investigating officers
- Conduct preliminary incident investigations and prepare reports for review
- Ensure performance monitoring of security personnel and determine training needs
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a Grade B Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Certificate
- At least 3 years of experience as a security officer
- A valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of access control procedures and control room operations
- Familiarity with prescribed security procedures, including PSIRA regulations and emergency protocols
- Strong computer literacy and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to write reports and maintain telephone etiquette
