About the Role
The Ekurhuleni East TVET College is seeking a Senior Practitioner in Human Resource Development to enhance the professional growth of staff in the region. Based in Springs, Gauteng, this role is pivotal in implementing effective training and development programs that cater to the diverse needs of the College’s employees. By conducting training needs analyses and facilitating comprehensive training schedules, the Senior Practitioner ensures that all staff members have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles, ultimately contributing to the betterment of the community’s educational services.
The importance of this position extends beyond administrative tasks; it plays a significant role in nurturing a skilled workforce that can adapt to the evolving demands of the public service sector. As a vital member of the HR team, you will foster relationships with training providers, coordinate staff training, and manage bursary applications, thereby directly impacting the College’s ability to deliver high-quality education and support to students.

What You’ll Do
- Implement training and development programs aligned with the College’s objectives.
- Conduct training needs analyses to identify staff development requirements.
- Develop and administer training schedules, ensuring all logistics are in place.
- Manage relationships with service providers to negotiate training options.
- Market training courses available at the College to encourage participation.
- Conduct skills audits and monitor the implementation of Work Skills Plans (WSP).
- Administer bursary applications and provide guidance to staff regarding career development.
- Facilitate workshops on Performance Management Development System (PMDS) and Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS).
- Oversee the administration of internship and learnership programs.
- Compile and maintain accurate databases for training and performance management records.
What You’ll Need
- Matric/Grade 12 and a 3-year National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a Human Resource environment.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Solid understanding of PMDS and IQMS processes.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to plan, organize, and work collaboratively in a team.
- Flexibility and customer care service orientation.
