What You’ll Do

  • Consolidate and prepare financial supporting information for the budgeting process (MTEF).
  • Coordinate the management of cash flow, budget, revenue, and expenditure, reporting regularly on any deviations.
  • Facilitate the loading of the departmental budget and adjustment estimates in the BAS System.
  • Monitor budget spending, identifying underspending or overspending, and report findings to management.
  • Compile and verify the accuracy of monthly and quarterly In-Year Monitoring (IYM) reports.
  • Supervise and assess the performance of subordinates and address departmental budget queries.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Finance, Cost and Management Accounting, or related field (NQF 6 qualification).
  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a budget management environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of government financial systems (BAS, Walker, and Vulindlela) is advantageous.
