What You’ll Do

  • Assist in developing and implementing guidelines and templates for disaster damage assessments and classification processes.
  • Support the creation of mechanisms for funding disaster management, including the establishment of relevant guidelines and frameworks.
  • Contribute to the development of national seasonal contingency plans to enhance preparedness.
  • Coordinate intergovernmental structures to streamline preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
  • Provide secretariat functions to disaster response coordination structures and engagements.

What You’ll Need

  • A 3-Year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Disaster Management, Development Studies, Environmental, Social Sciences, or an equivalent qualification at NQF 6/7 as recognized by SAQA.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Strong competencies in quality of work, reliability, initiative, effective communication, interpersonal relations, teamwork, and planning and execution.
