What You’ll Do
- Control access by verifying the identification of officers, employees, visitors, and maintenance personnel before allowing entry.
- Issue and monitor admission control cards for visitors while maintaining a visitor’s register.
- Inspect supplies and objects brought onto the premises to ensure safety standards are met.
- Manage the admission of vehicles in restricted areas and patrol the premises regularly.
- Safeguard vehicles, workshops, and equipment, ensuring they remain secure.
- Supervise cleaning and maintenance staff from a security perspective.
- Conduct checks on security equipment and facilities, reporting any deficiencies to senior personnel.
- Collaborate with security officers in executing their duties and responsibilities.
What You’ll Need
- Competency in the core functions of the Security Guard role.
- Proficiency in English and at least one other official South African language.
- South African citizenship with documentary proof required at the interview.
- A Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV Level 2 certificate (NQF level 2).
- Valid registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- A Grade C security certificate or higher.
- Willingness to undergo firearms competency training and maintain certification.
- Relevant courses in security will be considered an advantage.
- A valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours.
- Knowledge of access control procedures and emergency protocols.
