The Department of Social Development is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Secretariat – Executive Structures in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Provide secretariat support to executive structures, including Min EXCO and Extended EXCO.
- Coordinate meetings and manage administrative services effectively.
- Take accurate minutes during meetings and draft them for review.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical records of agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
- Capture and track relevant data, including action items and deadlines.
- Assist in producing routine reports and dashboards on decision implementation.
- Draft general correspondence such as emails, letters, and status reports.
- Serve as a communication link between the Executive Support unit, committee members, and departmental officials.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) in Public Administration, Office Administration/Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of administrative experience in a public or private sector environment, preferably with top management.
- A postgraduate qualification in a related field is advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office Packages and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong understanding of governance and public-sector committee processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including minute-taking.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for accurate information management.
- Advanced data capturing and reporting skills, especially in Excel or similar tools.
- Ability to handle work confidentially and professionally, with effective time management skills.
