What You’ll Do

  • Manage the design and implementation of research frameworks aligned with departmental goals.
  • Develop and oversee capacity-building initiatives in population and social development research.

  • Monitor and report on the performance of the sub-directorate according to established regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical frameworks and public service regulations in all research activities.

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform policy development.

What You’ll Need

  • A qualification at NQF Level 7 in Social Science, with a focus on Population Studies or Demography.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a junior management role.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Social Science is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of Public Service Regulations, the Constitution of South Africa, and relevant frameworks.
  • Strong strategic capability, leadership, and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and research methodologies.
