What You’ll Do

• Provide safe anaesthetic care to patients in operating theatres and Intensive Care Units.
• Offer clinical support across various medical and surgical disciplines.
• Participate in after-hours duties as per the call roster.
• Supervise and mentor medical interns and medical officers.
• Engage in teaching programs, tutorials, and assessments as part of your training.
• Assist with the training of interns, medical students, nursing staff, and paramedics.
• Develop critical skills necessary for a specialist in Anaesthesiology.
• Involve yourself in research and audits related to Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Pain, and Peri-operative Medicine.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
• Current registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice.
• A valid driver’s licence (code B/EB).
• Ability to work on weekends and after-hours as needed.
• Completion of a Diploma in Anaesthesia [DA(SA)].
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Clinical experience since obtaining an MBChB degree.
• Relevant Anaesthesiology experience and practical skills.
