What You’ll Do
- Provide safe anaesthetic care to patients in operating theatres and Intensive Care Units.
- Offer clinical support across various medical and surgical disciplines.
- Participate in after-hours duties as per the call roster.
- Supervise and mentor medical interns and medical officers.
- Engage in teaching programs, tutorials, and assessments as part of your training.
- Assist with the training of interns, medical students, nursing staff, and paramedics.
- Develop critical skills necessary for a specialist in Anaesthesiology.
- Involve yourself in research and audits related to Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Pain, and Peri-operative Medicine.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice.
- A valid driver’s licence (code B/EB).
- Ability to work on weekends and after-hours as needed.
- Completion of a Diploma in Anaesthesia [DA(SA)].
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Clinical experience since obtaining an MBChB degree.
- Relevant Anaesthesiology experience and practical skills.
