What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality healthcare to patients at Caledon Hospital and surrounding clinics.
  • Engage in outreach services to support primary healthcare facilities within Theewaterskloof.
  • Participate in skills transfer and training initiatives to enhance medical knowledge within the community.
  • Take an active role in clinical governance and quality assurance within district facilities.
  • Conduct administrative tasks to support the management team while upholding professional ethics.
  • Involve yourself in research and professional development, including the completion of MMED.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Current registration with the HPCSA for independent practice.
  • A valid driver’s license (code B/EB/C1).
  • Willingness to perform compulsory remunerated commuted overtime duties.
  • Ability to provide outreach services to various clinics within the sub-district.
  • Sound knowledge of general medical and surgical conditions relevant to district-level healthcare.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Recent experience in district-level medical procedures, including maternal and child health care.
