What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement psychological and counselling services at PHC level.
- Provide evidence-based short-term and longer-term psychotherapies.
- Facilitate and manage telehealth services for patient care.
- Liaise with relevant service providers and stakeholders for effective referrals.
- Champion mental health initiatives within the Department of Health.
- Develop capacity-building programs through clinical supervision and mentorship.
- Perform administrative tasks related to clinical work and data collection.
- Adhere to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements as stipulated by the HPCSA.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychologist in Clinical Psychology.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Psychologist in Clinical Psychology.
- For Grade 1: No experience required for RSA qualified psychologists; one year relevant experience for foreign qualified psychologists.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 8 years relevant experience for RSA qualified psychologists; minimum of 9 years for foreign qualified psychologists.
- For Grade 3: Minimum of 16 years relevant experience for RSA qualified psychologists; minimum of 17 years for foreign qualified psychologists.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
- Willingness to work at all facilities in the Sub-Structure.
- Excellent clinical assessment, management, and consultation skills.
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
