What You’ll Do
- Manage the full project lifecycle of rural infrastructure projects, ensuring effective planning and execution.
- Oversee construction project management, including contractor coordination and site implementation.
- Provide technical input into feasibility studies, scope definitions, and business cases.
- Ensure compliance with engineering designs, specifications, and quality standards throughout the project.
- Monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to budget constraints.
- Engage with community stakeholders, including local authorities and traditional leaders, to ensure collaborative project implementation.
- Manage contract administration and supply chain compliance in line with applicable regulations.
- Implement quality assurance measures and identify risks, ensuring they are effectively mitigated.
- Compile and submit technical progress reports and performance dashboards to relevant stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of junior management experience in planning, design, and construction management of infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in construction project management, engineering supervision, or infrastructure implementation, particularly within government or large-scale civil projects.
- A valid driver’s license and readiness to travel as required.
- Strong knowledge of the built environment, construction legislation, and financial management principles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to professional ethics and public service integrity.
