What You’ll Do
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards and legal frameworks.
- Utilize resources effectively to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Maintain and develop your professional skills, adhering to ethical standards in nursing practice.
- Support Nursing Services through mentorship and participation in training sessions.
- Engage in research initiatives aimed at improving nursing practices and patient outcomes.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of recognisable nursing experience post-registration in General Nursing.
- For Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of recognisable nursing experience post-registration in General Nursing.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Knowledge of nursing care processes and relevant legal and ethical practices, along with computer literacy in MS Office and MS Outlook.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare reports effectively.

Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.
diploma/ degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R880) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Experience: Grade 1: None.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work shifts, day and night duty, weekends and public holidays to meet the operational requirements.
Prepared to work in all departments/ wards according to the operational needs of the hospital.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge and understanding of nursing care processes, procedures, statuses, and other relevant legal and ethical practices.
Computer literacy: MS Office, MS Outlook.
Good Communication Skills and Report Writing.
Appropriate experience in comprehensive nursing treatment and care to patients in a Mental Health Unit.
