What You’ll Do

• Provide effective and comprehensive nursing treatment and care for patients with psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of quality nursing care.
• Utilize human, material, and physical resources effectively to support patient care.
• Promote nursing practice in accordance with established standards and regulations.
• Build relationships with patients and colleagues, respecting diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Rotate within the facility and assist with other Primary Health Care clinics as needed.

What You’ll Need

• A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent, allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• A post-basic nursing qualification accredited with SANC in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science (R212), or a 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• For Grade 1: At least 4 years of relevant nursing experience post-registration with SANC.
• For Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years of relevant nursing experience post-registration, with at least 10 years in a relevant specialty.
• A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and the ability to rotate within the facility.
• Good interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills, along with knowledge of the Mental Health Care Act and relevant legislation.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
