What You’ll Do
- Facilitate learning opportunities and in-service training for nursing personnel and students.
- Provide professional and technical support for high standards of patient care.
- Evaluate and assess the competencies of nursing personnel and students to ensure quality care.
- Support the orientation program for new nurses and students.
- Initiate and support nursing research initiatives within the Mother, Woman, and Child department.
- Promote and implement quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Ensure effective utilization of financial and human resources.
- Collaborate on ecosystem initiatives to enhance hospital services.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent, allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science or a relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- For Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years of experience in nursing after SANC registration.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years of experience in nursing after SANC registration, with at least 10 years in a relevant specialty after obtaining the post-basic qualification.
- Basic computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
