What You’ll Do

• Manage and oversee the Mine Health and Safety Directorate.
• Conduct and report on audits and inspections related to mine safety and equipment.
• Investigate mine-related accidents, diseases, contraventions, and complaints.
• Provide comprehensive reports on mine closures, prospecting rights, and permits.
• Revise mining legislation, guidelines, and standards as necessary.
• Ensure the testing, licensing, and statutory inspections of mining equipment.
• Coordinate the activities of the board of examiners as required.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (NQF 7).
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency or an Advanced Diploma in relevant engineering fields.
• A minimum of 5 years of senior/middle management experience in mining.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge of mining practices, legal aspects, and departmental directives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and handle conflicts effectively.
• Computer literacy and innovative thinking.
