What You’ll Do

• Perform specialized ophthalmic investigations to support diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain ophthalmic equipment and ensure cleanliness in consulting rooms.
• Assist with patient counselling and distribute relevant health information materials.
• Keep accurate and organized patient records for easy retrieval.
• Manage the provisioning of consulting rooms to ensure they are fully equipped.
• Participate in departmental audit programs to uphold quality standards.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of two years of in-service training in ophthalmic specialized equipment after completing the Level 1 Ophthalmic Assistant course.
• For Grade 1: No experience required post-qualification.
• For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience post-qualification.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and families.
• Ability to stay updated on new technologies and sterilization methods.
• Competency in accurately recording data and maintaining equipment records.
• Effective communication skills with clinical staff and the ability to work independently.
• Time management skills and the ability to perform routine tasks proficiently.
• Understanding and adherence to health and safety standards.
