What You’ll Do
- Manage and execute relevant curative health programmes within the primary health care setting.
- Advocate for patients to ensure they receive necessary and timely healthcare services.
- Oversee woman and child health initiatives as well as TB/HIV/AIDS/STI programmes.
- Supervise nursing staff, ensuring their development and performance management.
- Manage financial resources, including budgeting and supply chain oversight, to ensure effective service delivery.
- Maintain infrastructure and security across health facilities, mobiles, and satellites.
- Liaise with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and community health initiatives.
- Provide holistic leadership and management within the primary health care environment.
What You’ll Need
- Basic R425 qualification or equivalent that allows registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A post-basic nursing qualification accredited by the SANC in Clinical Nursing Science or a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- A minimum of 9 years of nursing experience after registration with the SANC, with at least 5 years in a relevant specialty.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with a deep understanding of nursing and public service legislation.
- Knowledge of human resource and financial guidelines related to health care delivery.
- Familiarity with the Ideal Clinic and National Core Standards, and community-oriented primary care practices.

Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.
diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with the SANC in Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R48).
OR A 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
A post graduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing.
Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Experience: A minimum of 9 years appropriate / recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate / recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification or post-graduate diploma in the relevant specialty.
Inherent requirements of the job: Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good interpersonal, leadership, communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
Demonstrate and in- depth knowledge of nursing and public service legislation, regulations and departmental policies.
Knowledge of Human resource and financial guidelines, policies and protocols.
Knowledge and application of Ideal Clinic and National Core Standards.
Knowledge of Community Orientated Primary Care.
Job Duties
