What You’ll Do

  • Supervise the nursing unit and ensure effective use of resources in line with policies and legislation.
  • Provide management support and guidance to nursing personnel to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in health promotion initiatives and conduct HAST audits, contributing to evaluation and improvement plans.
  • Manage operational activities at the clinic level to enhance service delivery.
  • Assess training needs and implement professional development programs for staff.

What You’ll Need

  • A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows for SANC registration as a Professional Nurse.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse or General Nurse.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant nursing experience post-registration.
  • Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and willingness to work after hours.
  • Strong management, supervisory, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practice legislation and policies within the Public Service.
  • Experience in working within ARV/HIV settings and skills in conflict management and computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
