What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive clinical occupational therapy services in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and community health facilities.
- Conduct wheelchair seating assessments and prescribe, fit, and issue wheelchairs to patients as needed.
- Fabricate and prescribe upper and lower limb splints to support rehabilitation.
- Participate actively in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure holistic patient care.
- Engage in personal, district, and hospital training programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Collect and submit relevant data to maintain departmental standards and reporting protocols.
- Manage stock taking and ordering of consumables and assistive devices in line with departmental norms.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification allowing for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.
- Registration with the HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist.
- For Grade 1: No experience required after HPCSA registration.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience post-registration.
- For Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience post-registration.
- A valid driver’s license (code B/EB) and willingness to travel within the Langeberg Sub-district.
- Strong clinical therapeutic skills and knowledge in occupational therapy and rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with good computer proficiency.
