What You’ll Do
- Provide clinical occupational therapy services at Hermanus Hospital and associated primary healthcare facilities.
- Deliver community-based occupational therapy interventions aligned with primary healthcare principles.
- Conduct training sessions for self and other healthcare staff to enhance service delivery.
- Manage administrative duties including documentation of services rendered.
- Facilitate health promotion initiatives and community service interventions.
- Coordinate mobility assistive device services for patients needing support.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualifications for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Professions Council (HPCSA).
- For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration for South African qualified applicants; one year of relevant experience for foreign qualified applicants.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience post-registration for South African applicants; 11 years for foreign qualified applicants.
- For Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience post-registration for South African applicants; 21 years for foreign qualified applicants.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for consultations and meetings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant health legislation and policies, with the ability to adapt to resource-constrained environments.
