What You’ll Do

  • Manage anaesthetic care for patients within various healthcare settings.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in clinical anaesthesia and perioperative medicine.
  • Participate in and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training programs.
  • Organise and facilitate anaesthetic skills training courses.
  • Support the administration and management of the department, including performance assessments.

  • Engage in outreach efforts to support referring institutions.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
  • Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
  • For Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field post-registration.
  • For Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience post-registration.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills in clinical anaesthesia.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
