What You’ll Do
- Provide medical and psychiatric care by diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries.
- Formulate and manage treatment plans, including medication and therapies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, both electronically and on paper.
- Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers as necessary.
- Complete required continuing professional development (CPD) activities to maintain HPCSA registration.
- Prepare and submit necessary medical reports and documentation for legal and administrative purposes.
- Uphold the reputation and integrity of the medical profession through ethical practice.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification enabling registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner is mandatory.
- Relevant experience based on the grade level:
- Grade 1: None after registration for SA-qualified practitioners; one year’s experience for foreign-qualified practitioners.
- Grade 2: Minimum of five years’ experience for SA-qualified practitioners; six years for foreign-qualified practitioners.
- Grade 3: At least ten years’ experience for SA-qualified practitioners; eleven years for foreign-qualified practitioners.
- Willingness and ability to work shifts and with patients with infectious diseases.
- Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Strong clinical consultation, management, and procedural skills with good computer literacy.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
